Ivanka Trump confuses Meat Loaf’s Twitter account with her father’s
Donald Trump and Ivanka Trump in Air Force One – but the tweet from the president’s daughter is a mystery. In the photo she marks the singer Meat Loaf instead of her father.
Donald Trump is still officially US President and his daughter Ivanka is his advisor. Before the Senate runoff elections in Georgia, the duo traveled to the state to support the Republican candidates there. Ivanka Trump tweeted a photo from Air Force One, the U.S. President’s plane, with her father before departure.
There is nothing unusual about the selfie at first. Ivanka Trump announces that she and the president are on their way to Georgia and calls on the state’s citizens to vote. A closer look at the links in the picture caused some confusion for some users. Because there was among other things the pop star Meat Loaf, known for songs like “I’d Do Anything For Love”. However, it did not appear anywhere in the photo – and, as far as is known, has nothing to do with the election in Georgia.
Ivanka Trump has probably made a mistake
Alongside Meat Loaf, Ivanka Trump tagged Republican Senate candidates Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino, and the Republican Party’s Twitter account. While that mention made sense, followers puzzled over what the singer’s tagging meant.
One possible explanation is that Ivanka Trump mistook Meat Loaf’s Twitter account for her father’s. Both Meat Loaf’s Twitter username and Donald Trump’s Twitter username begin with “real”: The musician is called “RealMeatLoaf”, the US President “realdonaldtrump”. It is possible that Ivanka Trump simply missed the mark.
Meat Loaf has not yet commented on the matter itself. The singer is originally from Texas, so has no direct connection to the Georgia elections. Meat Loaf is also rather inconspicuous on Twitter. He posted his last tweet in April 2019.
