Italy Extends Restrictions Due To Increase In Coronavirus Cases Until End Of April

The Government of Italy announced this Wednesday the extension of a series of restrictions for the coronavirus situation until next April 30.

In the approved decree, which is will apply from April 7, the prohibition of circulation in the country is established as well as visits to family and friends in the red zones and the continuity of the closure of bars, restaurants, cinemas, theaters, gyms and swimming pools, according to The Republic.

Another measure is the Mandatory vaccination for “merchants, health professions and health workers who carry out their activity in public and private health structures, social and care structures, public and private, pharmacies, parapharmacies and professional offices”.

This measure is a reaction to the fact that a part of the medical staff is skeptical of the vaccination campaign, according to the DPA agency.

Likewise, the new regulation proposes the reopening of schools for minors and gradually ending distance learning for older students.

Regarding the latest data, in the last 24 hours the Italian Ministry of Health has reported that they have been diagnosed 23,904 positive cases and 467 deaths have been confirmed, which means that since the origin of the pandemic, 109,346 people have died and 3,584,899 have been infected, of which 2,913,045 have recovered.
