Those who have lost their jobs during this health emergency can process the benefit of partial retirement due to unemployment, this was announced by the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS).

It is a protection that the formal worker has, important now, since in the case of loss of his job he can make use of the resources of his individual account, the institute specified.

The requirements are to have 46 calendar days of unemployment, to have been registered for at least three years with an Afore, and to have contributed to Social Security for two years or more.

Also, not having made withdrawals from your individual account in the last five years. Once the requirements have been met, it is necessary to make an appointment at the Afore and request the completion of the procedure.

The partial provision of resources may be made based on two modalities: in the first, an amount equivalent to 30 days of the last registered Base Salary can be withdrawn in a single payment, with a limit of 10 times the value of the Unit of Measurement and Update (UMA).

In turn, the second is applicable when the individual account has been opened for more than five years; In these cases, the amount to be withdrawn corresponds to the lower of the amount corresponding to 90 days of the base salary of the last 250 weeks or 11.5 percent of the accumulated resources in the Retirement subaccount, Severance in Advanced Age and Old age.
