The “Squid Game” hype is still going on.
The Korea hit on Netflix is still THE topic of conversation among serial junkies. And so the nine-part series is preparing to become the most successful format of all time for the streaming giant.
Even the smallest details are discussed in internet forums. So also the question, why the character Seong Gi-hun with the starting number 456 (played by Lee Jung-jae) suddenly dyes his hair red at the end of the season.
In an interview with the Korean gossip portal “Zapzee”, the inventor and director of the series, Hwang Dong-hyuk, said: “I thought about it for a long time.”
“I’ve been thinking about how Gi-hun should get his hair cut in a hair salon. I imagined myself to be him. And I thought to myself: Which color would you never choose to dye your hair? “, Says the genius behind” Squid Game “.
He came to the conclusion that he and thus the main actor would never dye their hair red. “So I chose this color and thought: It really shows his inner anger.”
The red hair is therefore an expression of irrepressible anger, according to the starting number 456 – attention, spoilers! – the win of the jackpot and the associated death of a number of other players.
While the red hair riddle has been resolved, one question in particular worries millions of fans around the world: Will there be a sequel to “Squid Game”?
Hwang Dong-hyuk had recently taken a stand on this, too, and emphasized that he could not imagine a second season.

However, Jung Ho-yeon (plays number 067) recently gossiped and said in an interview: “To be honest, I never thought about doing the next season because I’m dead.”
When considering whether the squid game can continue, financial aspects should also play a role. With THAT success, Netflix can’t actually avoid a sequel …
