Jesus Ramirez Cuevas, general coordinator of Social Communication and spokesman for the Government of the Republic, He stated that Mexico will have 197.9 vaccines against the coronavirus disease in 2021.

Through his Twitter account, the official indicated that this will be achieved thanks to the contracts that the federal administration holds with pharmaceutical companies Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Cansino Biologics, just like him Covax deal of the World Health Organization (WHO).

In addition to this, he announced that the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador is also interested in agreeing to distribute the Russian and German vaccine in the country.

On December 24, authorities from the Ministry of Foreign Relations (SRE), the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP), the Federal Ministry of Health (SSa), among other officials, gathered at the International Airport from Mexico City to receive the first batch of antigens produced by Pfizer and BioNTech.

However, contrary to what was promised, the authorities reported that only 3,000 vaccines had arrived. The next day the application of the antidote began to some members of the health personnel in Mexico City, the State of Mexico and Hidalgo.

He added that the budget that the federal government has to acquire antigens is 32,000 million pesos, so he assured that its universal application is a fact.

It is important that we have, in a first phase, 32,000 million pesos available for the purchase of vaccines, and that their application will be universal, that is, for everyone, rich and poor. The only thing that will be taken care of is that there is no influentialism and that the program is respected

Meanwhile, 1,740,187 negative infections were reported, 399,138 total suspects and 3,522,759 people studied since viral transmission began in the country.
