Juarez City.- After the events that occurred on Tuesday morning at the 35th IMSS hospital located on Valentín Fuentes avenue, when a hitman dressed as a nurse entered to kill a patient who was hospitalized with a bullet in the head, the institute issued the following position through an official statement:
“Regarding the events recorded on the morning of this December 29 inside the General Hospital of the Zone (HGZ) No. 35 of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), in Ciudad Juárez, the Chihuahua Representation Office reports:
● This situation is regretted and the IMSS has done everything necessary to protect the physical integrity of the other patients and workers on duty, who are safe.
● This Representation Office will cooperate with the corresponding authorities in the investigation that is carried out to clarify the facts.
● The hospital was guarded by elements of the National Guard, the Municipal Public Security Secretariat and the State Attorney General’s Office.
● Outpatient consultation was temporarily suspended, while hospital care continued normally.
The IMSS in Chihuahua reaffirms its commitment to work for the benefit of their rights, at the same time that it protects its staff ”.
