Goodbye to the beach in Acapulco! They will restrict access due to covid cases

Access to acapulco beaches will be restricted, since from this Tuesday, December 29, they will remain closed from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the next day to avoid contagion of covid-19, reported the governor of Guerrero, Héctor Astudillo.

The state president stressed that the restriction measures for access to the beaches will also be in force at the end of the year to avoid crowds on the occasion of the New Year celebrations, as is customary.

“This measure is for your health and safety,” he said on his Twitter account.

Erika Lührs Cortés, director of Social Communication of Guerrero, urged service providers and tourists to respect health protocols to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

“The measure also includes December 31, what we want to avoid is that there are many people at night, we know that it is a tradition to receive the New Year on the beach, but this year it will not be possible,” he said.

Lührs Cortés said what elements of the National Guard, Navy and State Police They will guard the strip of the beach to prevent people from violating health measures.

For his part, the Secretary of Tourism announced that since the beginning of the pandemic, sanitary filters have been installed in shopping centers, local markets and tourist areas, as well as information and attention modules.

He also stressed that the use of a mask is mandatory for all tourists and residents in public spaces, public transport and shops, since this way the spread of the coronavirus in the state.

Guerrero registers more than 2,000 deaths from covid-19

The Secretary of Health of the state, Carlos de la Peña Pintos, reported that to today’s cut Guerrero adds 25 thousand 746 cases of coronavirus and registers 2,676 deaths.

He highlighted that there are 382 active cases throughout the state and there are 3 thousand 87 suspected cases; while, 21,114 cases have been ruled out.
