Foreign Ministry informs on anticovid vaccination to compatriots in the US


The Ministry of Foreign Relations (SRE) reported on the vaccination against covid-19 in conjunction with the United States health authorities for the Mexican community in that country, through the 50 consulates.

The Foreign Ministry indicated that, among the consulates that have hosted the coronavirus vaccination for nationals are those of the cities of Albuquerque, Atlanta, Boise, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Douglas, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami , New Orleans, Omaha, Orlando, Raleigh, Sacramento, Saint Paul, Salt Lake City, San Jose, Houston and Phoenix.

Whereas, the consulates general in Sacramento and San Diego are permanent vaccination venues.

For consulate personnel who have been vaccinated, it has been mainly in the cities of Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Douglas, Philadelphia, Kansas City, Laredo, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Milwaukee, Orlando, Phoenix, Saint Paul, San José, Tucson and Washington.


The SRE reported that, with the support of the consulates in Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando and Saint Paul, agricultural workers have been vaccinated in the last week.

He also noted that this Saturday he will start a pilot program administered by the ministries of Health and Agriculture of the province of Ontario, so that Mexicans who participate in the Mexico-Canada Temporary Agricultural Workers Program (PTAT) receive the vaccine against COVID-19 upon arrival at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

According to the secretariat, this program will remain in operation for the next few months, as part of phase II of the Ontario Immunization Plan, which includes people who work in sectors considered essential.

Similarly, vaccination processes have started in British Columbia and Quebec, with the participation of the consulates general in Vancouver and Montreal.
