Mexico adds 128 thousand 822 deaths from covid-19 this Tuesday, according to the report by the Ministry of Health that released the figures of the pandemic in the country as of January 5, 2021.

  • 128,822 deaths
  • One million 466 thousand 490 accumulated cases
  • One million 841 thousand 820 negative cases
  • 403 thousand 467 suspected cases

José Luis Alomía, general director of Epidemiology, highlighted that as of today there were 68 thousand 767 estimated active cases, and one million 113 thousand 137 people have recovered from the virus.

During the Health conference for the new coronavirus, Alomía reported that there are 1,165 new deaths in the system and 11,271 new cases of coronavirus.

Hospital occupation in Mexico due to coronavirus

It was announced that of the 30 thousand 715 general beds, 16 thousand 306 are occupied and there are 14 thousand 409 available; that is, 53 percent are busy.

General beds:

  • Mexico City: 86 percent
  • State of Mexico: 82 percent
  • Hidalgo: 80 percent
  • Guanajuato: 78 percent

While of the 10,298 beds with a fan that are generally available, 4,610 are occupied and 5,688 are available.

  • Mexico City: 88 percent
  • State of Mexico: 78 percent
  • Nuevo León: 62 percent
  • Baja California: 57 percent
