The corona pandemic is having an increasing impact on excess mortality: significantly more people will die in Germany in November 2020 than otherwise in the period.

The number of Deaths in Germany is in the November increased significantly. According to preliminary findings from the Federal Statistical Office, eleven percent or 8186 more people died last month than the November average for the four previous years. The number of deaths related to Corona was therefore 7335. A total of 84 480 deaths were counted across Germany. The statisticians recorded a significant increase in deaths, especially among those over 80. “The number of deaths among those under 80, however, is at the level of previous years,” it said.
