EU soybean imports in the 20/21 campaign rise to 11.94 million tons as of April 25

PARIS, Apr 26 (Reuters) – European Union soybean imports in the 2020/21 season that began in July rose to 11.94 million tonnes through April 25, from 11.82 million tonnes shipped to the same week of the previous campaign, data published by the European Commission showed on Monday.

As of January 1, data from the European Commission refer only to the 27 EU countries, while previous figures also covered Great Britain.

Rapeseed imports rose to 5.37 million tonnes from 5.18 million tonnes a year ago.

Meanwhile, soybean meal imports so far in the 2020/21 season fell to 13.84 million tons, compared to 14.57 million a year ago. Palm oil purchases were 4.28 million tons, compared to 4.69 million at the same date the previous season.
