MEXICO CITY

The Secretariat for Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC) informs is activated Orange alert by forecast of low temperature between 05:00 and 08:00 hours for tomorrow, December 26, in the upper parts of the mayors of Cuajimalpa, Magdalena Contreras, Milpa Alta and Tlalpan.

The temperature is expected to drop to between 1 and 3 degrees Celsius south of Mexico City.

In addition, it is activated Yellow Alert by forecast of low temperatures in the demarcations Álvaro Obregón, Azcapotzalco, Gustavo A. Madero, Iztapalapa, Miguel Hidalgo, Tláhuac and Xochimilco. The temperature is expected to drop to between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius from 05:00 to 08:00 tomorrow.

The Secretariat for Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC) recommends wearing at least two layers of clothing, covering nose and mouth, avoiding exposure to sudden changes in temperature, using cream to protect and hydrate the skin from the cold, and in case of any discomfort, go to the nearest health center.

According to National Meteorological Service (SMN) the lowest temperature recorded so far in 2020 was recorded on January 4 when the thermometer dropped to 3 degrees Celsius in the Cuauhtémoc, Venustiano Carranza, Benito Juárez and Gustavo A. Madero mayors.
