Despite Covid-19, Zipolite announces Nudist Festival 2021

Juchitán de Zaragoza.— Despite the fact that the entire state of Oaxaca is found in orange traffic light due to high risk of contagion from Covid-19, organizers of the Zipolite Nudist Festival announced the realization of the sixth edition of this event.

Zipolite is located in the municipality of San Pedro Pochutla, on the Oaxaca Coast, and is the only beach in Mexico where nudism is officially allowed since 2016, so at the end of January and the beginning of February, for For almost six years, they have held the Zipolite Nudist Festival, and that for this 2021, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is called for the weekend of January 29 to February 1.

This Festival, which has gathered for three days until 8 thousand people, is financed by the Nudist Federation of Mexico AC, as well as by the municipal authority of San Pedro Pochutla.

Organizers of the sixth Nudist Encounter reported that on December 20, in a general assembly, the Zipolite communal town agreed to carry out the Festival activities, as long as they are not massive and the necessary health protocols are complied with, on and off the beach.

So in the promotional Zipolite Nudist Festival 2021 They have invited the general public to respect health measures, wear face masks and avoid crowds in their activities due to the risk of Covid-19; Some of the messages that have been broadcast read: “If you have airline and hotel reservations, bring your face masks and articles to sanitize with you”; or, “If you don’t have reservations yet, we invite you to stay home.”

The municipal authority of San Pedro Pochutla, headed by the Moreno Saymi Pineda Velasco, has not spoken publicly before the announcement of this event of national and international stature. However, on their social networks they have shared the orange alert status at the epidemiological traffic light for the entire entity, which specifies that they are mass events suspended, and asks citizens to stay home.

So far, the entity has accumulated 28,730 infections and 2,153 deaths from the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. The Costa region has registered 1,459 cases and 143 deaths so far, and San Pedro Pochutla has registered 145 cases and 10 deaths related to Covid-19.
