Daniel Ricciardo has fun skidding with the McLaren Artura
The McLaren Artura is one of the latest “toys” of the British brand and, as is often the case with all of them, its drivers are the first to have the option to try and enjoy them. This time it has been Daniel Ricciardo who has been able to get behind the wheel of the plug-in hybrid sports car in the Circuito Brands Hatch.
The star of the Formula 1 He rightly points out that in his profession he has to avoid any type of drift since even the slightest loss of grip involves valuable time, which can lose you victory. However, he also points out, between smiles, that this time he is not working:
Thus he shows that although his F1 I take it on rails looking for maximum precision and efficiency, it is also capable of carrying a sports car with a lot of style. It is obvious that you enjoy the experience, but it is also curious how you are surprised to be able to drive the car (at a calmer pace, yes) in 100% electric mode.
McLaren Artura: this is the first British plug-in hybrid sports car
And is that the Arthur, which was unveiled in mid-February, is McLaren’s first PHEV. It combines a 3.0 V6 biturbo engine with 585 hp and 585 Nm of torque with an electric block that adds an extra 95 hp to achieve a combined power of 690 hp and a maximum torque of 720 Nm. Thanks to this, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3 seconds, reaches 200 km / h in 8.3 and 300 km / h in 21.5 seconds, also marking a maximum speed of 330 km / h.
But, in addition, it combines its sportiness with a certain ‘eco’ awareness and is that thanks to its 7.4 kWh battery it is capable of circulating in electric mode for up to 30 kilometers, being able to reach a peak of 130 km / h.
