Through a statement, the agency stated that until this Sunday, January 3, 2021 in Mexico:
- 1,448,755 confirmed cases of COVID-19
- 127 thousand 213 total deaths by COVID-19
The Ministry of Health reported that, until this Sunday, the entities most affected by the SARS-CoV2 virus are:
- Mexico City
- Mexico state
- New Lion
- Guanajuato
- Jalisco
- Sonora
- Coahuila
- Puebla
- Tabasco
- Veracruz
Since as a whole they make up about two thirds; that is to say, 65% of all registered accumulated cases of COVID-19 in Mexico.
While, Mexico City registers most of the accumulated cases of COVID-19 in the country and represents by itself 23% of all cases registered by residence entity.

They are the entities with the highest number of active cases, followed by:
- Jalisco
- Tabasco
- Queretaro
- Puebla
- Coahuila
- Baja California Sur
These entities register more than a thousand active cases and together they concentrate more than two thirds; that is to say, 81% of active COVID-19 cases in Mexico.
Health calls for maintaining hygiene measures to prevent the spread of the virus
The The Ministry of Health called on the public to maintain basic hygiene measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Mexico.
People who suffer from: diabetes, hypertension, morbid obesity, kidney failure, lupus, cancer, respiratory heart diseases, as well as transplants, older adults from the age of 60, pregnant people, should make family safe at home.
Maintain a healthy distance, at least 1.5 meters away from each other.
Protection and care of the elderly, the most important measure is voluntary social isolation and following the recommendations of healthy distance and prevention measures if visiting older adults.
