CHIHUAHUA.

The Cold Front 24, accompanied by a winter storm, hit Chihuahua, with snow storms that forced the authorities to close several stretches of road and the emerging opening of shelters and hundreds of shelters.

The entry of the Cold Front 24 and the Fourth Winter Storm caused snowfall in 30 municipalities of the entity, which caused the closure of road sections, vehicle overturns and a marked drop in temperature, with the consequent isolation of dozens of communities.

The State Coordination of Civil Protection reported that the meteorological phenomenon caused snow precipitations, mainly in the mountain region, so that some road sections have been closed to traffic due to the freezing of the asphalt and the accumulation of snow.

Some municipalities reported 20 centimeters in section of the Buenaventura-Ignacio Zaragoza highway at noon on Wednesday, so it was closed as well as 6 other sectors.

Furthermore, as a result of the bad weather, the road conditions and the lack of caution, Civil Protection reported three rollovers, one on the Cuauhtémoc-Carichí highway with an injured person; another at kilometer 90 of the Chihuahua-Cuauhtémoc highway and an accident delivery truck in the Guadalupe and Calvo-Parral section, without injuries.

The road sections that are closed are Cuauhtémoc to Chihuahua, Buenaventura and Ignacio Zaragoza, Namiquipa to La Quemada, Cusihuiriachi to El Mimbre, Riva Palacio to Anáhuac, Guachochi to Parral, El Vergel to Guadalupe and Calvo and Cuesta del Toro, in Namiquipa .

As for shelters in the state, there are 409 temporary shelters that can be set up as required in all affected municipalities.

ALSO IN DURANGO

Durango registered the first snowfall in the municipalities of Guanaseví, Tepehianes, Otaez, and Santiago Papasquiaro, due to Cold Front number 24 and the fourth winter storm.

The state coordinator of Civil Protection, Guillermo Pacheco Valenzuela, reported that in some localities intense rains continue, such as Tamazula, San Dimas, Guanaseví and Topia.

Shortly after 07:00 it began to snow in La Rosilla and in different communities of the entity.

On the other hand, in the north of Coahuila, snow and sleet fell, with temperatures between zero and 5 degrees.

The National Water Commission predicted that snowfall will continue in Chihuahua, Durango and Coahuila, as well as rains in Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas.
