Guanajuato, Gto.- The Electoral Institute of the State of Guanajuato (IEEG) denied the registration to the coalition “Together We Will Make History in Guanajuato” composed of Brunette, he Labor Party and New Alliance Guanajuato for the elections of city councils and local deputies in 2021, by not comply with the requirements of the law.

The coalition agreement of Morena-PT and NA proposes the nomination of candidacies by the principle of relative majority for local councils in 11 electoral districts, as well as for 23 of the 46 municipalities of Guanajuato.

The General Council of the IEEG resolved that the registration of the agreement of the partial coalition called “Juntos Haremos Historia” is not appropriate since it does not comply with the requirements established in the law, among them that related to the electoral platform and government program, the National Council of Morena did not approve the celebration of a partial coalition agreement for the nomination of candidacies for local councils and municipalities in the Ordinary Local Electoral Process 2020-2021 in the state of Guanajuato; nor did he approve the electoral platform, nor the government program of said coalition.

Likewise, the National Executive Commission of the PT did not approve the celebration of a partial coalition agreement with Morena and New Alliance Guanajuato; The procedure for the selection of the candidates corresponding to the coalition parties was not specified.

On the other hand, the institute approved the request for partial coalition agreement “VA POR GUANAJUATO” held between the Institutional Revolutionary Party and the Party of the Democratic Revolution, which did meet the legal requirements to go together.

The PRI-PRD coalitionAccording to the agreement, candidates for councils will be nominated by the principle of relative majority in 12 electoral districts and in 24 city councils, including Salamanca and Silao.
