Owners of approximately 10,000 new General Motors trucks must park outside due to fire hazards while awaiting repairs, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

General Motor had to urgently recall 10,154 2021 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vehicles with 6.6-liter gasoline engines after reports of four engine fires related to a short-circuit problem.

The manufacturer said it has no knowledge of accidents or injuries associated with the problem.

The owners of the aforementioned vehicles should park the trucks away from houses, structures and other flammable materials such as vegetation, as warned by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the United States.
