CFE blackout issue is used as a political-electoral issue

Mexico City /

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador accused that the issue of the blackout in 12 states of the country, which occurred on December 28, is used as a political-electoral issue, after yesterday the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) reported that the incident was due to a fire in Tamaulipas, but the state government denied this version.

At the National Palace, López Obrador said that the Tamaulipas government has differences with the federal government, but clarified that the issue of the blackout should be investigated.

“Yes there is a complaint and the government of Tamaulipas, well, let it be investigated, this governor of Tamaulipas has differences with us,” he said in his morning press conference.

Yesterday, the President accused that the conservatives make a scandal over the blackout, Well, they want it to be the debacle of the Federal Electricity Commission.

“There is a problem with this blackout and they make a scandal and assume that it is already the debacle of the Federal Electricity Commission, which they would like, they are eager for the sector to be handed over to individuals,” he commented.
