Celtics report Jaylen Brown to miss remainder of season

The Boston Celtics have reported that forward Jaylen Brown will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn ligament in his left wrist.

The injury, which was diagnosed over the weekend, is expected to require surgery later this week, according to the team.

It’s a blow to the Celtics who entered seventh in the Eastern Conference Monday night, two games behind sixth-place Miami Heat and hoping to avoid the postseason play-in round.

Brown, selected to the All-Star Game for the first time this season, averaged 24.7 points, 6 rebounds and 3.4 assists, but also battled injury, spraining his right ankle that caused him to miss three straight games in the past week.
