Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez made it clear that he does not want anything with Demetrius Andrade, who tried to instigate him during the post-fight press conference on Saturday night, but the Mexican simply told him to shut up and leave the place because he was not rival for him.
“When are we going to fight? When are you going to make this happen?” Andrade asked Canelo directly after the Mexican’s knockout victory over Billy Joe Saunders.
To which Canelo replied: “You have fought with nobody. You are a champion, but you have fought with nobody.
“Get out of here, get out of here,” the Mexican champion told the American, who continued to insist.
Canelo became unified super middleweight champion of the World Council, World Association and World Boxing Organization after knocking out Englishman Billy Joe Saunders in the eighth inning.
Another member of Andrade’s team tried to get into the exchange of words and in a stronger tone faced Canelo, who continued to minimize the American.
“Get out of here, this is my night. You don’t fight with anyone. Horrible fights!” Canelo declared as screams from Demetrius and his father, Paul, were heard.
Canelo is expected to fight in September during Mexico’s homeland dates, with a rival to be announced.
