By survey and insaculation Morena will choose candidates

The National Elections Commission of Morena launched the call for those who decide to seek a seat in the Chamber of Deputies, either with a relative majority or through proportional representation.

The party repeats the trend: the selection will be by survey in the case of those who seek to go by a relative majority and in cases in which there is more than one candidate; it will be by insaculation in the case of proportional representation.

All those legislators seeking reelection already have the green light from the national leadership, but in the event of having jurisdiction in the same district, they must submit to the survey or insaculation, as the case may be.

The registration of applicants will begin on December 28 and until January 3, 2021, in the case of deputies with a relative majority. Those that start on December 28 are Baja California, Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Durango, Jalisco, Nayarit, Sinaloa and Sonora.

On December 29 it is the turn of Aguascalientes, Coahuila, Guanajuato, Nuevo León, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas and Zacatecas; for December 30, Campeche, Chiapas, Oaxaca, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, Veracruz and Yucatán.

For December 31 and January 1, 2021, registrations are suspended, which will resume on January 2 with applicants from Mexico City, Guerrero, Morelos, Puebla and Tlaxcala.

On January 3 they conclude with Colima, Hidalgo, the State of Mexico and Michoacán.

In the case of registrations for candidates for federal councils by the principle of proportional representation, the registration will be by constituencies and will take place from January 5 to 9, 2021.

The approved registrations will be announced on January 31, 2021 and the candidatures will be released on February 7.

“The registration of candidates may be canceled or not granted for serious violation of the rules established in the statute and this call, in the opinion of the National Election Commission and the National Executive Committee,” it was warned.

In addition, the strict prohibition of making public accusations against the party, its management bodies or other candidates or protagonists of the electoral contest was indicated to all candidates.
