After it was announced that the first debit cards for the benefit of migrants residing in the United States, the Wellbeing Bank explained what are the requirements to request one of these plastics, which facilitate the sending of remittances to relatives in Mexico.
Arturo Herrera, Secretary of the Treasury, revealed a few days ago during the Banking Convention that the first cards had already been issued in the neighboring country. It is about five, which were scattered in Orlando, city located in central Florida, USA.
“In a very specific way, we announced a program through which Banco del Bienestar was going to allow Mexican migrants to open debit accounts remotely in the United States and that could be delivered through consulates. The first ones have already been given ”, he pointed out.
In this sense, the Mexican banking institution emphasized the importance of requesting a “DebicuentaExprés”Through a cell phone or website and following simple steps, in order to receive immediate deposits from Mexico or abroad.
How to request it?
* The interested party will have to access the following link.
* The process can be executed from a computer or mobile phone.
* It will be necessary to enter an email account.
* Share an image of the current official identification such as: INE, consular passport, consular registration number, INE to vote from abroad.
* Once the process indicated to open the account has been carried out, the card can be collected at the nearest branch.
In agreement with the banking institution, the person who is designated may acquire an additional card, which will allow them to make withdrawals and payments at ATMs and commercial establishments.
Thousands of people have crossed the border from Mexico to the United States in search of a better future, and they have had to maintain the action of sending remittances, that is, the money that migrants turn from abroad to Mexican territory. Given this, the Banco del Bienestar created a new strategy to deliver these resources in a simpler and faster way.
The initiative consists of banking Mexican migrants residing in the United States, through the Banco del Bienestar, so that they authorize the opening of bank accounts.
The idea is to reinforce the financial services mechanism, with the objective that the sending of remittances to Mexico is carried out in a simpler, safer and cheaper way.
In that sense, Mexicans who are abroad and have a card, will be able to save and send money to their relatives in a fleeting way.
The process to receive your international debit cards may be applied through the Financial Advisory Windows (VAF) located in various Mexican consulates abroad, as well as the corresponding orientation of the program to open such accounts and their benefits.
In addition, families will be able to access remittances through 2,399 service points, which include branches of the Bienestar bank, financial companies, through Telecomm offices, among others.
The actions to reinforce and expand the coverage of financial services, so that the shipments of nationals in the US to their families in Mexico are better, are led by the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP), the Ministry of Relations Foreign Affairs (SER), the Bank of Mexico, the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV), the Banco del Bienestar and the Association of Banks of Mexico (ABM).
