Authorities confirm death of “C1”, alleged partner of “El Chapo”, in Sonora

Caborca, Sonora.- The authorities that are members of the Security Table confirmed the death of Ignacio Paez Soto, 47 years old, alleged head of the Plaza del Sinaloa cartel in the northwest of Sonora.

They reported that this Saturday, December 26, at 1:07 p.m., they learned of the attack with bullets from firearm against a male person, who was identified at the scene of the crime by relatives and by personnel of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGJE).

The events were recorded in the public road, outside a convenience store located on 10th Street, between L and M, Colonia Centro, where the victim’s body Above a 2017 Volkswagen Passat vehicle, white, which had impacts on the windshield and bodywork.

Witnesses indicated that several people with long weapons arrived in a vehicle, apparently Cherokee.

In the arming event, an 8-month-old baby, the daughter of the victim’s companion, suffered minor injuries, who required medical attention due to a nervous breakdown.

According to Ignacio’s file “Nacho” Páez Soto, alleged partner of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán and head of the plaza in the municipalities of the Sonora desert, he operated in the municipalities of Caborca, Pitiquito, Altar and Sásabe, among others.

In 2016, he had been sentenced by the Third District Judge, based in the city of Hermosillo Sonora, to 20 years in prison for crimes against health related to the transfer of drugs to U.S.

His capture occurred in October 2013 by elements of the Federal Police during an operation in the town of Pitiquito Sonora, where firearms and drugs were seized.

His death was reported today, after receiving more than 50 bullet impact; his body was transferred by personnel from the Forensic Medical Services (Semefo).
