Argentina posts a current account deficit of 1,372 mln dlr 4th quarter 2020: statistical entity

BUENOS AIRES, Mar 30 (Reuters) – Argentina registered a current account deficit of 1,372 million dollars in the past fourth quarter and closed 2020 with a positive balance of 2,985 million dollars, the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses said on Tuesday (INDEC).

The country comes from a corrected surplus of 1,181 million dollars in the third quarter of 2020 and an also adjusted deficit of 3,997 million dollars in all of 2019, according to official data.

The Argentine economy closed 2020 with a 9.9% recession, mainly affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
