The progressive candidate for the Presidency of Ecuador, Andrés Arauz, has encouraged his compatriots to vote in the second round of the presidential elections, which is held this Sunday.
“Throughout the country, people have already begun to put their dreams and hopes at the polls. Today we choose the destiny of our country and every vote counts,” Arauz has published on his Twitter account.
“Let’s go together for our sons and daughters, for our families and our future! Hope is here!”, Has riveted the candidate for Union for Hope (UNES).
Arauz, of correista tendency, and Guillermo Lasso, of the CREO Movement –and of conservative and liberal ideology– dispute the Presidency on a day marked by the call for a null vote of the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (CONAIE) after that the indigenous candidate Yaku Pérez was left out of the second round by a narrow margin.
