After an important coordinated deployment between research units of various provinces, during the afternoon of December 24 National Gendarmera stopped 6 persons who were seized, among other things, 170 kilograms of marijuana and weapons. The band was dedicated to the collection and marketing of illegal drugs.
The narcos fell just when they wanted to pass the substance from one vehicle to another, on National Route 7, at kilometer 770 (San Luis). The drug shipment was hidden inside a truck that was carrying 23 tons of zucchini and sweet potatoes which also served to camouflage and prevent the discovery.
But the researchers came monitoring the truck since its departure, in Formosa. When the taxi stopped to lower the burlap bags with the prohibited load, the troops appeared.
The gendarmes they stopped the first two people, but two others who were approaching in a smaller vehicle to remove the cargo they tried to flee. Then the route was the scene of a chase which ended a few kilometers later, when the fugitives they lost control of the car and overturned.
With the collaboration of the San Luis police, the victims were apprehended no risk injuries. Thus, the GNA had already managed to arrest four members of the gang. Two missing.
Here, the video of what requisitioned on Route 7:
At the same time, and as part of the same investigation, Federal Court 2 of Formosa ordered the initiation of three raids in the northern province. There, the GNA arrested two other people from whom cash (in national and foreign currency), 5 vehicles (between cars and trucks), 2 motorcycles, a 22 caliber rifle with 45 cartridges, a 16 gauge shotgun with 5 cartridges, a machine for vacuum packaging and 12 cell phones. In two other raids, tablets, a notebook, a pendrive, a computer, a scale and other documents and items of interest to the cause.
After these procedures, they were detained 6 persons (4 in San Luis and 2 in Formosa) while another 2 were released, processed and subject to the cause. Both the truck stopped on the road and the damaged vehicle near there were left in the hands of the federal court on duty from San Luis, while what was seized in Formosa was available to Federal Court 2.
It is worth noting that these days he was also captured another shipment with more than 200 marijuana bricks, in an operation that carried out the Police Against Drug Trafficking (PCN) from Mendoza on Route 40. It is believed that this last material was related to the band of the “Mimo” Cataldo, a local drug lord who has remained behind bars since August 2016, when he wanted to enter the province with 700 kilos of drugs.
