President Andrés Manuel López Obrador reported that this Sunday the vaccination of members of the Health sector will continue with the arrival of the second batch of Pfizer / BioNTech vaccines, although the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health (Ssa) announced that it would resume on 28 December.

Yesterday the President met with the Head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum, and the health cabinet in the National Palace, with whom he evaluated the plan to expand beds in Mexico City and the second shipment of vaccines against Covid-19.

Through his Twitter account, the Head of the Executive announced the evaluation meeting that took place in the Palace, where the President maintained a strict healthy distance with the members of his cabinet and the president of the capital.

“We met with the head of government and members of the federal health sector,” reported the President through his Twitter account.

He pointed out that at the meeting they reviewed the plan to expand beds, equipment and doctors for the city, and other entities in the country where there is an increase in the number of infections and people hospitalized by Covid.

In that same message, President López Obrador said that the second delivery of Pfizer vaccines was reviewed and reported that the second batch will be applied from this Sunday to medical personnel who treat Covid-19.

In the last 24 hours – from Friday to Saturday – the Health sector authorities confirmed 4,974 new cases of Covid-19 in Mexico, so that until yesterday’s cut one million 337 thousand 217 infections have been reported in the country. Similarly, yesterday, 189 deaths were reported compared to Friday and the general figure in this area is 122 thousand 26 deaths.
