President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), reported that, at the end of March 2021, Mexican men and women over 60 will be vaccinated against the new coronavirus COVID-19.
“At the end of March, we will have the entire population over 60 years of age vaccinated, all of them. And by April we will start with those who are younger, with chronic diseases, then teachers and so on ”.

AMLO assured that there will be no shortage of vaccines and that in 2021 Mexico will come out ahead of the health crisis.
“We are going to face the two crises and we are going to improve the health and economic situation in our country.”
AMLO detailed that his government has faced the COVID-19 pandemic and it will maintain the purpose “that no one is left unattended, that there is no lack of beds”, as well as medical equipment.
AMLO affirmed that the vaccine represents hope.
“We are the first country in Latin America in which the vaccine against COVID-19 is being applied.”
How many vaccines against COVID-19 has Mexico received?
AMLO explained that to date 53 thousand 625 doses have been received in Mexico and 32,824 doses have been applied; that is, 61% to medical personnel who are in COVID hospitals.
“First protect those who are saving lives in hospitals.”
He announced that on January 5, 50 thousand more doses will arrive in our country and for the next three weeks, Mexico will receive one million 400 thousand doses “To vaccinate all personnel who are treating COVID”; that is to say, 750 thousand doctors and nurses.
AMLO highlighted that at the end of January the COVID-19 vaccine will begin to be applied massively to older adults.
The vaccine that will be applied to this sector of the population it will be made by the Chinese pharmaceutical company CanSino Bio and consists of a single dose.
“The obligation of the Mexican State is to guarantee that everyone who wants to be vaccinated has the possibility to do so. Universal and free vaccine ”.
AMLO assured that the vaccine will be applied voluntarily to any person who requires it.
