Nice (France) – Scary end to a day-long hunt.
French security forces found the killer Marc Floris (33), wanted all over France, dead in the Côte d’Azur holiday region. The French media reported on Tuesday.
Floris is suspected of having shot the mother of two Doriane R. (32) near St. Tropez at the weekend.
According to the French media, the perpetrator and the victim are said to have previously had a relationship. After the young woman ended the liaison, Floris is said to have harassed her for months. When the police wanted to question the suspect in his apartment in Gréolières, he is said to have shot an officer and then fled.
Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin confirmed via Twitter that the search in the Alpes-Maritimes department has been discontinued.
The gendarmerie had searched the mountainous hinterland of Nice with dogs, helicopters and special forces for the armed 33-year-old.
The background to the suspect’s death initially remained unclear.
